Case Study:
Driscoll Home, Montana | Crafted to embrace the land. Designed to celebrate the view.

Introduction
Where Modern Meets Mountain
Perched at the edge of Montana’s sweeping wilderness, the Driscoll Home is a striking example of how modern architecture can harmonize with a rugged, natural landscape. With its bold rooflines, warm wood cladding, and expansive glass, the home stands not in contrast to its surroundings, but in conversation with them.
Brought to life by Teton Heritage Builders and Brechbuhler Architects, and captured by the lens of Karl Neuman, this custom residence was designed for those who seek solitude in sophistication and inspiration in nature.
A modern mountain retreat framed in bronze and built for connection.

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Transitions
Surrounded by forest and open sky, the Driscoll Home is designed to dissolve the line between inside and out. Bi-fold doors, inswing and outswing doors, and large glazed openings were thoughtfully integrated to celebrate the landscape from every angle.
The bi-fold door system opens entirely to a covered outdoor patio—perfect for taking in Montana’s ever-changing skies or hosting under the stars. Whether the doors are fully open or closed against the elements, they preserve light, views, and a feeling of calm connection.
A custom inswing Dutch door with bronze exterior cladding adds both charm and practicality. This feature not only offers ventilation and flexible access but also speaks to the timeless craftsmanship that defines this home’s character.
At the heart of this home’s timeless charm is the deliberate integration of Sierra Pacific windows and doors, bringing together modern performance and classic farmhouse beauty.
Windows that Invite the Wild In
Every window and door in the Driscoll Home serves a purpose beyond function—they frame the landscape like living artwork. Expanses of direct glaze and urban casement windows pull in the panoramic grandeur of Montana’s forests, meadows, and big skies, turning light and scenery into daily experiences.
The custom powder-coated Bronze 024 exteriors don’t just enhance the home’s earthy palette—they ensure resilience against Montana’s rugged seasons. From snowy winters to sun-soaked summers, Sierra Pacific’s high-performance glazing maintains clarity, insulation, and peace of mind.
This deliberate use of glazing transforms the home into a sanctuary of light, where nature is always in sight—and always in sync with how the space feels.

Interior Tranquility: Mountain Minimalism with a Warm Soul
Inside the Driscoll Home, the design embraces a refined rusticity—warm, modern, and completely at peace with its surroundings. Natural materials and a grounded palette help the interiors breathe with the same quiet strength as the Montana landscape outside.
A Palette Drawn from the Mountains
- Earth-toned woods, organic textures, and clean-lined furnishings set the stage for calm, intentional living. Smooth stone, weathered finishes, and the glow of soft lighting mirror the terrain beyond the glass, creating interiors that are as elemental as they are elegant.
- Each space invites slow moments—of stillness, of connection, of watching how the light moves across the floor as the day passes.
Elevated Living: The Great Room Experience
Instead of a single focal kitchen or closed-off rooms, the Driscoll Home flows around a central great room, where the warmth of wood, the presence of a stone fireplace, and walls of casement and direct glaze windows set the tone for everything else.
From morning coffee to evening fireside gatherings, the space remains immersed in light and views—framing forest, sky, and ever-changing weather like a live canvas.
Wellness Through Design: A Spa-Like Escape
At the heart of the home is a Shasta multi-slide door, effortlessly blending the indoor living space with the outdoor entertaining area. The connection to the Arizona landscape is seamless, inviting light, air, and natural flow into daily living.
Sustainability & Energy Efficiency
While the home is visually stunning, it’s also a quiet triumph of sustainable design. Sierra Pacific’s high-performance windows and doors offer:
Passive airflow and daylighting, reducing the need for mechanical systems
Durable materials built for high-altitude and seasonal extremes
Exceptional insulation, maintaining interior comfort through temperature swings
A Montana Retreat, Redefined
The Driscoll Home isn’t just a mountain residence—it’s a meditation on balance. With its seamless connection to the land, refined use of natural materials, and intelligent window and door design, it offers a modern take on rustic living—open, peaceful, and perfectly attuned to its place in the world.
This home is a reminder that when architecture listens to the land, the result is not only beautiful—it’s timeless.

A Mountain Refuge, Reimagined
The Driscoll Home proves that luxury can be understated and that bold design can be rooted in restraint. It’s a place where architecture gives way to nature, and where windows and doors aren’t just elements—they’re experiences.
This is a home that breathes with the land.
This is Sierra Pacific, opening a view to what matters most.
