Black Butte Lodge

Immersed in Nature Through Modern Design

A Lodge Shaped by Light and Landscape

Set among the towering pines of Central Oregon, Black Butte Lodge is a contemporary retreat designed to dissolve the boundary between interior spaces and the natural environment. Expansive glazing defines the architecture, with ViewMax Plus Timber Curtain Wall, Direct Glaze Plus, Clad Commercial Doors, and Aspen 2.0 casement windows forming sweeping walls of glass that frame forest views and shifting seasonal light. Designed by Hacker Architects and built by Kirby Nagelhout Construction Co., the lodge balances bold modern form with warmth and material depth. The project is captured by Jeremy Bittermann / JBSA, highlighting its seamless integration with the surrounding landscape.
