Perched high on the slopes of Portland’s West Hills, Amaterra Winery is a striking example of modern architecture seamlessly integrated with its natural surroundings. Overlooking sweeping views of the Willamette Valley and framed by the dramatic landscape of the Pacific Northwest, the winery balances refined design with a deep connection to place.
Expansive glazing, clean geometric forms, and warm wood tones define the building’s character, inviting natural light deep into the interior while celebrating the surrounding scenery. A curated mix of Aspen casement windows and direct-glaze systems enhances transparency and openness, allowing the architecture to echo the rhythm of the vineyards beyond. Designed by Waterleaf Architects and built by Emerick Construction, the project is thoughtfully captured through the lens of Midnight Studios, highlighting both its material richness and elevated setting.
